Practical guide from Como: top events, tickets and useful info

Dates 2025: Milano Wine Week 4–12 October • La Vendemmia 6–12 October. Two complementary, non-fair formats: the city turns into an open stage of tastings, masterclasses, talks and boutique events, spread over several days — ideally with a comfortable base at La Maison de Geraldine in Como and easy transfers by train (Ferrovie Nord) and metro.

What it is and how it works: Milano Wine Week (citywide event) & La Vendemmia in the Fashion District (Quadrilatero della Moda)

The Milano Wine Week was born in 2018 from an idea by Federico Gordini: to take wine out of the trade fair pavilions and bring it to life in the city’s venues. Today, it’s a program that unfolds across multiple locations, with its headquarters at the Milan Marriott Hotel and symbolic stops such as the Enoteca ai Dazi at the Arco della Pace.

La Vendemmia (6–12 October), a project by the MonteNapoleone District, lights up the Fashion Quadrilatero for a week: wine glasses flowing between boutiques and hotels, special menus in partner restaurants, and the “must-attend” events — the Charity Auction at Palazzo Bovara and the Friday Wine Tasting at the Four Seasons Milan.

For the updated schedule and access details: MWW Event Guide (https://milanowineweek.com/guida-eventi-2/ ). Tickets available on Vivaticket (e.g. Wine List Italia: link • One Wine Night: link). What you’ll find (and what you won’t)

The week unfolds across key locations: the Milan Marriott Hotel (headquarters and hub of the professional programme), the Enoteca ai Dazi at the Arco della Pace/Piazza Sempione (evening events and continuous pouring), and—for La Vendemmia—the Fashion Quadrilatero (Via Montenapoleone, Gesù, Sant’Andrea) with Palazzo Bovara and the Four Seasons Milan. You’ll find themed tastings, walk-around tastings with dozens of labels, and special formats (Wine List Italia, One Wine Night), as well as dedicated menus. You won’t find trade pavilions and booths: the experience is citywide and itinerant, best enjoyed on foot or with short rides on the metro.

Walk-around tasting: what it is and how to choose it

The “walk-around” is the most typical format: you move with your glass between the producers’ counters, chat, taste, and continue. The best-known events (e.g., Wine List Italia) publish in advance the list of producers, time slots, and access rules. To choose: start from what you want to explore (regions/grapes), check location and time (easy to reach from Cadorna), confirm access (ticket or registration), and—if possible—combine masterclass + walk-around. Allow 60–90 minutes for a satisfying experience, plus 20–30 minutes for transfers. Out/return: Ferrovie Nord – Como Lago ↔ Milano Cadorna, then M1/M3 or a walk towards Quadrilatero/Brera. Plan 60–90 minutes for a satisfying route, plus 20–30 minutes for transfers. Out/return: Ferrovie Nord – Como Lago ↔ Milano Cadorna, then M1/M3 or a walk towards the Quadrilatero/Brera.

Practical info — Milano Wine Week 2025

We’re not here to teach you how to taste: we rely on the producers and the staff. Some events require registration or accreditation: having the confirmation on your phone and an ID ready speeds up entry.

For getting around, from La Maison de Geraldine you can travel comfortably with Ferrovie Nord — Como Lago ↔ Milano Cadorna. From Cadorna you can reach the venues via M1 (Duomo) and M3 (Montenapoleone) or on foot in ~20 minutes. Comfortable shoes, a light backpack, and some water make all the difference. Drink responsibly and, if taking photos, remember the credits and media policies of the venues.

All train and ticket information can be found on the Trenord and ATM websites.

Where to stay for MWW — La Maison de Geraldine

If you want to enjoy the week without the stress of Milan, La Maison de Geraldine is a perfect base in the Como area: quiet, well-kept and, above all, convenient for the Ferrovie Nord line – Como Lago ↔ Milano Cadorna. In the morning, hop on the train to Cadorna and you’re steps from Duomo/Montenapoleone; in the evening, head back and unwind away from the crowds. It’s the ideal option if you want to mix MWW events, a stroll by the Lake Como waterfront, and a peaceful return.

Info & bookings: write to us directly at info@lamaisondegeraldine.it for availability, rates and check-in. Early check-in available depending on arrivals.

Where to eat during La Vendemmia in the Quadrilatero

When it comes to dining, you’ll be spoiled for choice: to stay on theme, go for the partner restaurants with “Vendemmia Menu” (cuisines paired with wines, seasonal dishes and dedicated pairings). Alternatively, pick a wine bar in Brera or the Quadrilatero for a long aperitivo with tapas and glasses of wine. On peak days, it’s best to book (between 7:30–9:00 PM) and check the official program for the updated list of participating venues.

Related events — Milano Slow Food Week (4–19 October)

The Milano Slow Food Week runs in parallel with MWW, with some shared venues (e.g. Dazio at Arco della Pace) and a slot in the Milan Marriott Hotel calendar during the MWW Awards (with tastings of Lario specialties curated by Slow Food Lombardia). Theme 2025: “Water”.
