Aggiornamento Natale a Como 2025 – ultime indiscrezioni

When it takes place

The official dates for Christmas in Como have not yet been announced. Please treat this as a preview: for now, the indicative period runs from late November 2025 to January 6, 2026 (Epiphany). As a reference, in 2024 the event ran from early December through Epiphany, with installations spread across the historic center (Porta Torre, Piazza San Fedele, Teatro Sociale, Palazzo Terragni). This helps you gauge the pace and the liveliest areas, but it is not a confirmation for the 2025–26 edition.

How to get there

By train (recommended)
If you’re staying at La Maison de Geraldine, take the Trenord R17 Como–Milano Cadorna from Cadorago to reach downtown Como without traffic or parking stress. On peak weekends it’s the most relaxing option: remember to check holiday schedules and any late services for the light shows. Trenord timetables & tickets

By car
If you prefer to drive, leave your vehicle outside the very center and continue on foot or by public transport. Handy car parks: Autosilo Valduce (hospital area), Autosilo Centro Lago, Autosilo Tribunale (Via Auguadri), Autosilo Castelnuovo (Via Castelnuovo).

Valmulini Bonus (Park & Ride)
At the city’s entrance you’ll find Valmulini, a large park-and-ride that’s ideal on busy days: from here, frequent ASF city buses run to the center (shuttles/dedicated lines during peak periods). It’s often the simplest way to avoid queues and aimless driving.

Practical tips

Best times. To enjoy the lights at a relaxed pace, arrive in the late afternoon and stay into the evening; if you prefer to browse the markets without big crowds, the morning is ideal.

Weekend or weekdays. Weekends are busier: whenever you can, pick a weekday for a smoother, more relaxed experience.

Photography. Bring a wide-angle lens and, if it’s convenient, a pocket-size mini tripod: they’ll help you capture sharp shots even in low light.

Accessibility. The center is mostly pedestrian and flat, with ramps in many squares: it’s easy to get around even with strollers or wheelchairs.

Weather & comfort. Dress in layers and take warm breaks between squares: cafés, cloisters, and shops make great stopovers on colder days.

Map of key areas

  • Within the pedestrian historic center lies the heart of the event: streets and squares turn into luminous backdrops for the Magic Light Festival, with projections on the Duomo and Broletto, Palazzo Terragni, Teatro Sociale, Porta Torre, Piazza San Fedele, and Piazza Volta.

The Christmas markets traditionally liven up the axis between Piazza Cavour (22100 Como CO) and Piazza Perretta, spreading into the adjoining streets; musical moments and New Year’s Eve usually take place between Piazza Cavour and the lakeside, while nativity scenes and small exhibitions are hosted in cloisters and city venues. If you want to add a lakeside touch, the pier at Piazza Cavour is the departure point for the Navigazione Laghi boats.

Preview: these notes reflect how past editions were arranged. As soon as confirmations and the official map are released, we’ll update this guide; in the next article you’ll find even more precise information.

F.A.Q.

Are the 2025–26 dates confirmed?

Not yet. This guide is a preview. We’re waiting for official confirmations from the City and the organizers. As soon as they publish the calendar, times, and official map, we’ll update this page immediately. Want a heads-up when it’s out? Subscribe to the newsletter (no spam, just the useful update).

Where will the markets be?

Traditionally, the Christmas markets are set up along the axis between Piazza Cavour (22100 Como CO) and Piazza Perretta, extending into the adjoining streets of the historic center. For 2025–26 we’re still awaiting official confirmation of exact locations: we’ll update the map and publish the confirmed placements here as soon as they’re announced.

Will there be an ice rink and a Ferris wheel?

These attractions vary by year and depend on the official program. In some past editions there have been seasonal installations (like an ice rink or a panoramic wheel), but for 2025–26 nothing is confirmed yet. As soon as the organizers publish the details, we’ll update this guide with any locations, prices, and opening times.

Do I need to book for events?

It depends on the activity. Many experiences are free and on a first-come, first-served basis; others may require reservation (especially workshops, meet-and-greets with Santa/the Befana, concerts, or any limited-capacity areas for New Year’s Eve). Until the official program is published, details aren’t confirmed—once they are, we’ll add direct booking links here.
